FLSA Status:             Part-Time/Non-Exempt

Pay Rate:                    $15.87/hour

Available Shifts:        Flexible, part-time schedule including some long shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

                                      MUST be available to work 95% of the 2024-2025 Syracuse Crunch schedule.

THE ROLE

As a Suite Barback at The Oncenter, you should have knowledge of bar supplies and inventory, and will be responsible for ensuring bars and bar service areas are maintained, replenished, and clean at all times.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with New York State laws and regulations as well as Company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Complete tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of beverages.
  • Move and assemble portable bars.
  • Set up and breakdown point of sales systems, cash drawers, and printers.
  • Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, ice, condiments, etc. Prepare food items needed in the preparation of drinks.
  • Clean and polish bar, counters, shelves, and equipment.
  • Comply with inventory control measures.
  • Return all product and equipment to proper storage location.
  • Remove all trash and recyclables from bar areas and dispose of properly.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, and professional relationship with coworkers at all times.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in food and/or bar service.

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Ability to make professional, independent, and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • ServSafe & TIPS certification a plus.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 75 lbs+, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
