THE ROLE

The EDI Team is responsible for managing the electronic exchange of business documents with suppliers, vendors, and partners. Primarily, they are responsible for onboarding new and existing LGM suppliers to EDI and monitoring/troubleshooting EDI transactions to promptly resolve any issues. Additionally, they collaborate with internal departments and external partners to optimize and enhance EDI processes, supporting the company's overall supply chain efficiency and operational effectiveness.

The EDI Solutions Manager will lead the EDI Team within the IT department, driving the development and execution of Legends Global Merchandise EDI strategy. They will align EDI initiatives with broader business objectives, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of the EDI workstream. In this role, they will lead the daily operations of the EDI team and work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy new EDI business processes that are aligned with organizational goals. They should have extensive knowledge of EDI and ERP systems, coupled with strong project management and leadership experience, to be able to navigate complex challenges and deliver impactful solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the EDI workstream and be the liaison between the business, the ERP team, and the EDI suppliers and EDI Vendor teams.
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and EDI initiatives.
  • Lead supplier onboarding; this includes communication with both US and International suppliers and our EDI VAN, document testing, and reporting on supplier onboarding status.
  • Work with EDI Vendors, the Legends ERP team, and other entities on an Ad Hoc basis to map, implement, and test new EDI documents.
  • Work closely with functional leaders and organizational units to deploy new EDI business processes.
  • Oversee technical analyst(s); lead them in calls, assign tasks, and monitor their progress.
  • Represent EDI in IT meetings and ensure that EDI considerations are integrated with IT strategies.
  • Report directly to leadership on the EDI workstream.
  • Lead any Ad Hoc EDI projects which can include, but are not limited to, implementing additional documents and/or discovery and implementation of EDI enhancements.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts for any EDI related issues.
  • Provide weekly status reports for leadership, risk management, and other project management activities.
  • Manage the EDI backlog in Azure DevOps and help to maintain Agile cadences (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience             

  • Extensive experience with EDI, preferably in the retail or merchandising space, including knowledge of document types, ability to dive into data sets and understand problems, etc.
  • Experience with US and International EDI document types
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor M3
  • Experience working with IT teams.
  • Experience working with both technical/integration teams and non-technical business teams (e.g., ability to understand more technical initiatives and communicate them to a non-technical audience, etc.)
  • Project management experience (e.g., managing timelines, identifying, documenting, mitigating risks, project planning, etc.)
  • Experience with leading team members (e.g., delegating tasks and managing deadlines, reviewing work, etc.)
  • Experience with scoping new work and planning new integrations, including planning projects, creating timelines, and developing status reports.

Skills and Abilities       

  • Understanding of “Agile Development” mindset
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting urgencies, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
